The Community Kitchen Project serves nutritional and delicious ready-to-eat food to vulnerable populations in Lake County
We are so excited to announce NCO's newest project in Lake County, the Community Kitchen Project (CKP). We believe access to dignified and nutritious food is a human right. In partnership with the City of Lakeport, NCO developed the Community Kitchen Project which aims to serve locally sourced and nutritious meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity. These meals are prepared by volunteers and college interns who learn cooking skills and earn college credits while serving the community! CKP has future plans to offer diverse cooking classes, catered community events, and other creative ways to give back to the community.
Consider donating today so that together, we can continue to serve delicious and nutrient-rich meals to disadvantaged communities in Lake County. Your contributions may also go towards supporting local college students if you choose to "Sponsor a Student" for $150. This donation will go directly towards to student tool starter pack. This starter pack includes a knife kit, apron, appropriate shoes, and a graduation gift of a chef's coat. Culinary students, participating with CKP, can take this kit with them to their new kitchen jobs once they have graduated from their internship/work experience program.
