Strong communities need engaged adults and supported seniors.
In the "Apply My Donation To" field, select which program you’d like to support. We recommend splitting your donation between programs if possible.
Selecting "North Coast Opportunities" enables staff to apply your donation to the program(s) with the greatest need.
Caregivers look after our most vulnerable. They need care, too.
Building Homes, Building Lives (BHBL)--Lake County
Provide economically insecure adults training in a fulfilling career pathway
BHBL is a rewarding mentoring program that provides participants, who are homeless or formerly homeless, with hard and soft job skills in general construction and job readiness to retain long-term employment. Participants are paid for their time and at the end of the program, each graduate receives a letter of recommendation, a certificate of completion, job placement opportunities, and on-the-job equipment. Of the six students who graduated from the spring 2021 cohort, five secured full-time employment! BHBL works closely with community partners who share a common goal to promote workforce development opportunities, and with NCO's New Digs to rehab affordable housing units for their clients.
