There is no community action without volunteers
Since 1973, NCO Volunteer Network has been supporting community action through volunteerism. Operating in 6 counties in Northern California, NCO Volunteer Networks creates opportunities for people of all ages to volunteer, learn and lead in their communities. They strive to provide volunteers with high-quality experiences that fuel further action, and envision a day when everyone is inspired and equipped to be the change they wish to see in the world.
From programs serving seniors, children and low-income families, The Volunteer Network provides outlets for community members to come together to support a cause greater than themselves. During COVID-19, Volunteer Network was more important than ever, providing opportunities for people to safely work together and share a purpose under circumstances that left many feeling listless and hopeless.
Volunteer Network rallied community members from medical and non-medical backgrounds to staff the Mendocino County's vaccination clinics and support contract tracing efforts. Working in concert with the Public Health Department and across NCO programs, volunteers delivered essential supplies to doorsteps throughout the county ensuring families under quarantine did not go without their basic needs met.
The Volunteer Network fosters active participation in the transformation of communities which is a critical component to the promise of community action.
