We have to keep traffic safety education in our schools!

Over the last four years, Walk & Bike Mendocino has found grant funding to provide Safe Routes to School Education to thousands of students around Mendocino County. Unfortunately, our primary source of funding for Safe Routes to School programs ends as of September 30th and, Walk & Bike will no longer have funding to go to schools!

We do have funding to provide other services through March of 2020. And we have some good grant prospects to maintain our established breadth of services after that.

But our current funding won't cover our school based Safe Routes to School programs. Grade school programs do not cover basic traffic safety. If we don't do it no one will, and you are the key to making it happen.

For just $12,000 we can keep our staff providing school based safety programs through the end of the 2019-20 School year. Erich (Bobcat) and Sonja are loved by the kids and the teachers know that our programs prepare our kids to be safe on our streets. Our Walking School Bus Programs are just beginning to gain steam now; we can't lose them!
