North Coast Opportunities, Inc. (NCO) is a Community Action Agency that serves Lake and Mendocino Counties, as well as parts of Humboldt, Sonoma, Del Norte, Napa and Solano Counties. NCO was established in 1968 as part of President Johnson's War on Poverty, with the mission of assisting low-income and disadvantaged people to become self-reliant. NCO employs approximately 250 people, has an annual budget of approximately $22 million, and has successfully managed major grants from federal, state, and foundation funders.
NCO is a proud member of the Community Action Partnership, America's Poverty Fighting Network.

- Advocate on the behalf of low-income and vulnerable people.
- Encourage people to increase their participation in the community as well as all activities of North Coast Opportunities, Inc.
- Engage in the development of training and educational opportunities that increase the available resources to assist people in becoming more self-sufficient.
- Facilitate cooperation among organizations, agencies and groups who share a common goal with North Coast Opportunities.
