Help empower and inspire our community to experience the joy of walking and biking, and steer us towards a cleaner and more verdant Earth.

2019 has been a year full of big challenges and also new hope for transformative climate action. Walk & Bike Mendocino is leading the way in active transportation policy change, striving to improve infrastructure throughout the vast and beautiful landscape that is Mendocino County.

Many new trails, bike lanes, sidewalks, and intersection improvements are because of our advocacy and community work, and the invaluable support of neighbors like yourself. Attending City Council and Traffic Engineering Committee meetings, researching policy, holding our representatives accountable (read our Questions to the Candidates here), developing relationships and partnering with community and government organizations, and collaborating on inspiring community events like Earth Day Ukiah, has helped us accomplish milestones in favor of Safe Streets for All.

Our current grant funding allows us to work on the Great Redwood Trail improvements and little else as we ride the grant wave to the next funding source. Please help us continue our community and advocacy work. In 2019 we continued our Safe Routes to Schools endeavor with youth bicycle and pedestrian education, bike rodeos and our Walking School Bus program, thanks to a grant with the Office of Traffic Safety that ended in October of 2019. In 2019, we also supported the Mendo Maidens in fundraising and installing 3 bike fix-it stations, one in Ukiah, Fort Bragg, and Willits. The education that we do with the community is important and needs to be further combined with enforcement and engineering to help get people out of cars and walking or onto bikes.

We need your help to continue our transportation advocacy work, to grow the Safe Streets for All movement. We have much more to accomplish: developing our Bike Valet program, holding more community bike rides, creating safer corridors and more trails, and making it easier to access parks and schools. Please take a moment to make a generous donation to Walk & Bike Mendocino. Your gift will help empower and inspire our community to experience the joy of walking and biking, and steer us towards a cleaner and more verdant Earth.

Thank you from the Walk & Bike Mendocino team,

Neil, Sonja, and Erich
